Dr. Kristina Rudd is an Assistant Professor of Critical Care Medicine and Internal Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She is also a core faculty member of the Program for Global Health and is affiliated with the Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. Dr. Rudd received her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, and completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Washington. She then completed her fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Rudd's clinical and research interests focus on improving the care of critically ill patients, particularly in resource-limited settings. She has conducted research in India, Liberia, and Malawi, focusing on sepsis, acute respiratory failure, and critical care systems development. Her work has been supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health, the Thrasher Research Fund, and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. Dr. Rudd has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on critical care, sepsis, and global health.

In addition to her research, Dr. Rudd is committed to education and mentorship. She has developed and led courses on critical care ultrasound and global health for medical students and residents, and has mentored students and trainees in research projects related to critical care and global health. Dr. Rudd is also active in several professional organizations, including the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American Thoracic Society.
